Just a thought, but would it be possible to integrate a messenger within the forum so members can talk amongst each other directly?
"When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful."

So, the question is, how bad do you want it?

We have the PM feature, were you talking about a chat program?

Yes, I meant a real time chat, not messenger. My mistake

There may be a couple of options available. I'll look into it tonight or tomorrow and see if there's something that will work for us.

There are chat boxes avaliable, well atleast on some hosting sites. One other thing I would recommend looking at, is the chat client used by Computer Hope. Computer Hope/computer help/chat/Click here to join the chat now. I have used this for myself and to help others. Worth a look if something similar can be deployed on Simple Machines.

That's one of them I've been looking, though the examples they have posted look nothing like the one at Computer Hope. May have to take a closer look.

We now have a chat system in place. It's not exactly what I would prefer, but maybe it will do until we can come up with a better option or at least get this one tweaked a little better.

Most of the systems offered are for older forums and won't install correctly. The one at ComputerHope has been customized to their own specs. I'm still looking to see if we can implement some of options they have. Their stats are from something entirely different, but looking into that as well. There's not exactly a published code book out there.

Be patient.

That seems to be ok though. What would be good though, if it could be implemented at the bottom of the forum page. Just a thought though.

It would probably be a nice feature, but we only have 4 members that are posting anyway. The messaging works fine for me. Don't rush on my behalf.

I'm not really sold on it yet, don't really care for the ads they put in it. I did find another that I really liked, but it won't work with our version of the forum and I'm not enough of a coder to make it work on my own. I'll keep an eye open for others.
