Title: Printers and Copiers
Post by: Transk53 on January 08, 2012, 11:40:27 am
Over the years one element of Computing that most overlook, is the Printer and Copier Tech. I know someone who repairs for Xerox and whilst not my thing, I can see the specialised notion of it.

Just so everyone is clear, as near as I can tell, the above referenced site provides no free services or training material with the exception a free download of the CompTIA PDI+ Exam Objectives. They are a commercial retailer and not affiliated nor endorsed by this site.

However, this is a topic that may be of interest to some, and for those, the CompTIA Printing and Document Imaging (PDI+) Certification Examination Objectives are available for download below.

Just to add that the reply is in keeping with the ethos of the site. That was my bad! This like Monitors and PSU's is a particular area of expertise. Most PC Engineers/Technicians or IT Specialists will not have to deal with these particular areas of Hardware. In my experiance, a faulty Printer means buying a new one for example, Monitors too. In most cases, this type of equipment is junked and sent to recyclers for repair and or sent to developing nations for use in the development of IT infrastructure. The humble Printer/Fax is so simplistic, yet so specialist, that was my aim in the post.
